I feel like one of those ladies who take tea in their rooms because they can't be bothered with the society of other people right now. Not that it's always a bad thing. And coffee flavored with egg nog + homemade cranberry orange christmas bread= yum.

You know what else is awesome about Christmastime? Silver glitter hair spray. It's like a party in a can for your hair. Especially the kind I'm wearing right now. It smells like coconuts. I went to the store and played in the beauty aisle.

I know, really deep post. But it's before Christmas and I'm really stressed out at work so this is about what I can handle right now.

Holy cow, that Lady Gaga song is an ear worm. I can't help but be fascinated by her. She's like the weird girl at school that everyone is kind of freaked out by but there's something kind of endearing about her. I love watching to see what she does next. And I love her strange masks and head dresses. Does she wear them so she can look at people and they can't see in? I love the architectural unreal feel of her style with lots of slick shiny cyber stuff mixed with wicked queen furs and demented 80's pop Minnie Mouse prints.

But I hope she doesn't really live the unhealthy lifestyle she portrays in some of her songs...it's one thing to be a performer and do things for shock value...it's another thing to be Amy Winehouse and actually live like that and self destruct.

PS~ I love that it's my day off and I'm home watching music videos! I never get to do that!!

Winter landscapes are very romantic with their lacey white trees and frosty air. But it'd be nice to jump onto a plane and go someplace warm *after* the holidays. But NOT Christmas Island. ESPECIALLY at Christmas. Why> Because the whole island swarms with all these crabs. Crabs everywhere, migrating towards the ocean. TO MATE. Yup. Eeeeeeew! I've heard of couples spending the night out on the beach for a romantic interlude only to flee from all the crabs. LOL Snow can suck, but it sure beats crab sex! LOL

Technology has helped me to "multi-slack". Now I can watch movies and download music simulataneously. LOL Once apon atime you couldn't do that!

I decided after filling out an online application that I was done being crabby about something I can't fix right now. So I cranked up my music in the kitchen and set about trying a new recipe for Cranberry Orange Walnut Bread I had found.
Must say I am pleased with this refreshing Christmas-y bread. I would love eating it with some orange marmalade. Next time I am so doubling the cranberries. I want it bursting with tart bog berry goodness. Yum!

Cranberry Orange Walnut Bread

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup orange juice
Grated peel of 1 orange
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
2 tablespoons hot water
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Directions
1.In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. In another bowl, beat egg. Add orange juice, peel, butter and hot water. Add to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened. Gently fold in cranberries and walnuts. Spoon into greased 9-in. x 5-in. x 3-in. loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack.

Naked teens in cars or How I Almost Got New Mooned

So Thursday I was out late at Walmart and there's wall to wall teens everywhere. I think, when the heck did I become the oldest person here other than the staff? Then I remember, oh yeah, New Moon! No wonder there's inky haired kids wearing emo chick pants everywhere. And that's the guys LOL.

I ran into a friend out in the parking lot and was chatting with her when this shady looking car full of kids pulled up beside us and they're trying to get our attention. What the heck? I try to act cool and ignore them and hope they go away. What a pack of hooligans. One kid in the back wasn't even wearing a shirt! Then the kid driving is like, "Stephanie! Stephanie!" Ok, so these kids know me?

Turns out it was this kid who's family I know from church. Him and his buddy were taking two girls to the movie. I laughed and I mockingly reprimanded them, "What are you hooligans doing? You scared me!" and I smacked Pat's car and they all laughed. The shirtless kid in the back as it turns out, getting made up by his girlfriend to look like Jacob. I askede him, "So I'm assuming you guys are team Jacob?" and he looks sheepish and says, "Yeah, well, I never read the books. My girlfriend is making me do this!" and the girl says,"Hey!" and smacks him. LOL

I told them "When I saw your shirtless friend back there I thought I was gonna get New Mooned!" They loved that.

So I saw the movie Sunday with a few girlfriends. Loved the werewolves, loved that the scenes were more complex visually. Loved creepy Dakota Fanning. The thing with the dumb movie titles was kinda stupid but funny. I'd rather go see a movie called Punchface than one called Love Spelled Backwards Is Love. When did Bella's room get all tricked out with the fancy mirror and stuff? I thought she's supposed to hate shopping.

Anyway I had fun. :)

Work has been super busy this week but at least my boss hasn't been around to hang over us and make life more miserable. Weather's been good. Got to rake leaves up a little and meet our next door neighbors. They are about our age and have a baby about my nephew's age. Really nice. I may try and make them something for Thanksgiving. Some cranberry orange scones maybe?
